About

Achieving an important goal

Wow, you clicked “About,” which tells me that you are serious about digging in and doing some work. You’re motivated! Good for you! All worthwhile growth begins with that kind of hunger and desire.

But this is not about doing work for work’s sake. Who needs more on their to-do list?

This is about defining a goal worthy of your best effort. Not just any goal but an important goal. Achieving this goal may take a significant amount of time, effort, financial investment, emotional investment, and struggle.

But it will be so great to achieve it! This is a battle that is worthy of you!

Been here before?

I’m guessing this isn’t your first attempt at tackling this goal. Many people begin by seeking quick and easy ways to solve problems. They may read books, talk with friends, or watch self-help videos. There’s no shame in that.

But, if you had found the answer, you probably wouldn’t be reading this right now. This affirms that resolving these problems is important to you.

So, if seeking resolution is a truly valuable goal that you are unable to accomplish on your own, then you want to know if this guy can help you.

What makes him so qualified? Man, that is an important question!

Am I the right guy?

There are dozens of therapeutic styles and varieties of personalities and approaches used to help people. But one of the most important factors that determines whether you get the necessary help depends on your belief that you picked the right therapist.

You are wise to first find out who I am, prior to deciding if I’m the right guy for you.

Although I am a Christian, you don’t have to share my faith. About half of my clients don’t. But my faith impacts my work with people, because I believe God really likes you.

You are created with hopes and dreams, talents and abilities, and a purpose.

Like many people, you want to be authentic as you relate with more love and respect for yourself and others. I believe that together we can find that authenticity, and I believe that God would like that a lot.

About Me

Married for 40 years and raising three sons has made me well-acquainted with conflict and challenges in relationships. The good news is that we still love and have a lot of fun together. I have an odd sense of humor—as a slew of Dad-jokes will attest. And, being a native of Michigan, I am a loyal Detroit Red Wings fan. However, as a new resident of North Carolina, I will also root for the Hurricanes (unless they’re playing the Wings).

Training

My Master’s in Counseling is from Colorado Christian University and I am a licensed professional counselor in the State of Colorado and in my new home state of North Carolina. If you, or someone you know needs marriage support—but is not in CO or NC—I also offer marriage coaching based on my decades-long work as a Divorce Busting® coach.

Happy and healthy marriages are important, and my experiences as a Divorce Busting® coach and service at Every Man’s Battle conferences have helped me in my counseling.

Many clients have provided me with insights that I have used to develop thoughts for my book entitled Marriage Recall. See, learning is a two-way street that allows both of us to share insights.
